The Benefits of a Home Gym

I am an introvert. I enjoy my alone time and it's how I recharge my battery. One of the things I enjoy doing alone is working out. I think everyone should invest in building a home gym.


Don't get me wrong, group fitness is great (I even offer group fitness classes) but I have found there are a few benefits to having a home gym.


It allows me to focus solely on myself. I can work on my weaknesses and scale workouts accordingly without feeling any pressure. I know I should be able to do this in a class but we all know you end up doing things you shouldn't at times when in a group.


Besides being able to focus on myself, I also have a lot of flexibility. I walk out to the garage and can start my workout. No driving 20 minutes to the gym and back, no waiting for that 1 person that ALWAYS has to use the bathroom right before the workout starts, and no having to worry about getting to the gym on time.


Finally and maybe most importantly, it allows me to get in my head and think about whatever I want with no distractions. Sometimes these are my most productive hours of the day and I come up with some of my best ideas.


Anyways these are just a few of the things I thought about today while training.


Here was todays workout.


Banded Squat Jump 5x4 on the minute

Speed Safety Bar Squat 5x5x251+ Green Band 1 Minute Rest

Speed Conventional 5x5x285+ Green Band 1 Minute Rest

Ghd Sit Ups 4x15 1-2 Minute Rest


3 Rounds for Time of:

30 Lunges

15 Burpees

4:55
